Flying with Dad
This contribution comes from Ross Wilson, age 6, with a little help from his Dad, Bryan. Bryan is Director of Flying Mission Zambia:
My Daddy flies people all around Zambia, which means he is away from home a lot. I don’t like that! It means he is not home to play cricket or swim with me in the afternoon when I get home from school. Last week Daddy said I could come along on a long flight, way up into the corner of Zambia. We would get to stay the night at the game farm close to the airstrip then bring some people back the next day.
Where We Began
Flying Mission began as the personal vision of Dr & Mrs Malcolm McArthur in 1977. Perceiving the advantages of air transport for medical and mission work in Botswana, he began using aircraft to take mission and medical personnel on trips into the desert regions. Beginning with one aircraft and a part-time pilot, the work has grown to a fleet of aircraft flying over half a million kilometres per year. Originally from bases at Gaborone and Maun in Botswana, and now also from bases in Zambia, Flying Mission provides a rapid link connecting major centres with distant and inaccessible areas, and brings physical and spiritual help to people in need.
